Nicolette Brycki is a professional makeup & beauty expert based out of Philadelphia. She's been featured in websites such as nymag.com, newjerserybride.com, and theknot.com to name a few. She had been looking to redesign her website to give it a more up to date look. To meet Nicolette's initial budget we decided on purchasing a template instead of a complete custom website.
Original Website
There was nothing inherently wrong with her original website but it did feel a bit dated. She also had a blog that hadn't received any new content and services & images that she wanted to update.
Discovery Meeting
We discussed the look she wanted for her new website by looking through templates and other live websites as inspiration. We discussed colors, typography & general layouts. She wanted her website to have a black and white color palette with a hint of pink. Regarding typography she wanted it to feel elegant & modern.
We also discussed her blog. We decided to not include it on the new website because not only it wasn't feasible for her to write content on a frequent basis but also a blog for her type of business is not a major catalyst in converting visitors into clients.
Color Palette & Typography Options
Based on the notes I took I presented her with 8 color palettes and 4 typography pairings for her to choose from. Nicolette had mentioned that she wanted to attract more corporate & commercial clients and presenting her with multiple color options helped her decide on a color palette that was more client neutral instead of her first option which would primarily attract wedding clients.
